Heuchera ‘Marmalade’


An evergreen perennial with attractive foliage in shades of gold and amber. In late summer it produces spires of small red flowers on slender, but strong, stems. A striking feature for the front of border as it prefers full sun on a moist, but well drained soil.

Heuchera ‘Marmalade’ is an evergreen shrub native to North America. Its leaves are dark green, glossy, oval shaped and grow in clusters. This plant has been used medicinally for centuries. In fact, Native Americans used the root bark to treat coughs, colds, sore throats, and fevers. They also used the leaves to relieve stomach aches and headaches. Today, we know that heuchera contains many compounds that help fight bacteria and viruses.
Heuchera ‘Marmalade’ is a hardy, deciduous perennial that grows well in USDA zones 5 through 9. It is drought tolerant once established.
Heucheras contain anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce swelling and pain associated with arthritis.
It is also known to boost energy levels and improve sleep patterns.
